Page 2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 16, 1995 <br /> MR HIGH„S CHQOL:: <br /> Request for Roofing Inspector: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed a proposal submitted by Tom Wren <br /> of Chartwell and Company for Roofing Inspection Services for the <br /> new High School project. <br /> Mr.Wren submitted proposals from three roof inspection service a encies. <br /> . P g <br /> Price quotations as received as follows; w <br /> UTS of Massachusetts: $11,880 <br /> Simpson Gumpertz&Heger(SGH) $34,210 <br /> Perry Dean&Partners (PDP) $44-1000 <br /> Selectman Dinizio indicated that the initiative to hire a roofing inspector <br /> for inspection serviceswas recommended strongly by Paul Griffin and <br /> the High School Building Committee. <br /> It was noted that Chartwell and Co. has responded to the request of the <br /> Committee to obtain price quotations from roof inspection specialists. <br /> The contract as written provides for additional sub-consultants under the <br /> auspices of the project manager. <br /> Selectman Dinizio recommended the Board approve the request for <br /> roof inspection services to ensure that all roofing materials are applied <br /> correctly to prevent the roof from leakage. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the services a roof inspector/specialty <br /> roofing consultant is expected to perform. It was noted that the Stone <br /> Construction Company has projected 181 days to construct the roof. <br /> Mr.Wren has assumed an average of 50 days to cover full time roof <br /> ID services on the project site. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Dinizio to approve the request for <br /> Roof Inspection Services for a sum not to exceed $44,000, <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Caffyn. <br /> Y.QTE* 2-3. <br /> Motion fails. <br /> Selectman Costa, Selectman Caffyn and Selectman Mills are <br /> in opposition, <br />
