There was a patron who spends half of the year <br /> in Florida, and half in Mash ee , - who has indicated that <br /> he was unhappy with the r-eserve policy relative to best <br /> salters and new books in the Dlashpee Library. His com- <br /> plaint <br /> o - <br /> lai t was the ine 'i cienc of the . resent system of re- <br /> heservr boos , ttime elegy-nent . i elg was <br /> in Florida they have a first-come-first-served policy. <br /> This patron asked Mimi to briar . t is issue up at ,the <br /> hoard. <br /> A. Buschenfeldt made a motion that this has been brought <br /> before the board and we have decided to continue the- <br /> present <br /> hepresent policy. G. Selander seconded. All in favor. <br /> Motion carried . Mimi volunter ed to advise Mr , Jacobson <br /> relative to the decision. <br /> D. Rental Boo'_, s : Helene explained that some of the- libraries <br /> purchase multiple copies of best selling books , and they <br /> can go out for a. rental charge o.f typically $1 . 00 a we �, <br /> with an. additional $ . 25 a day -thereafter . The Friends <br /> would buy the c o i e s , and the rental monies would go to <br /> the Friends . <br /> Terri Hyde Indicated She was aga-Inst this idea . That this <br /> would involve extra work for the library personnel . She <br /> did not thj-nk it was necessary. <br /> It was agreed that the idea should be postponed. at this <br /> time . <br /> B. July 4th Holiday and hours of operation : Monday, July 3rd <br /> the town hall will be open. D. Shaughnessy .moved that <br /> the library should follow the town hall policy. If town <br /> hall should decide to close on Monday, July 3rd, so will <br /> the library. Mimi Marsh seconded. All in favor .
