Speaking to a secretary from the selectmen' s <br /> office, Helene was told that sQme departments have submitted <br /> it both ways ; submitted by the trustees , and also put in <br /> as <br /> petition article. This is the tisane article that the board <br /> of trustees had submitted in the spring, the only difference <br /> being the explanation, "The voters at spring town meeting <br /> voted to acid funds to the library budget to ,increase the 1 <br /> hour circulation assistant from 19 to 25 hours. The towns-. <br /> people recognized the need for additional. help for the l.i- <br /> brar which has seem circulation growth by io over the <br /> last few gears. This artic-le is the second phase of action <br /> needed to carry out the intent of voters at spring town <br /> meeting, and officially authorizes the change to a. standard <br /> part-tire position. So moved. <br /> Helene explained that she had also had the article on the <br /> reclassification which they -had submitted last spring, which <br /> had been held off due to- the reclassification -study. The <br /> subject was brought up at their last department head meet- <br /> ing. Some of the department heads are currently petition <br /> ing -for a union. The selectmen have chosen not to act upon <br /> this' until they know whether there will be a union, or � not. <br /> This reclassification study .mar be on the fall town meeting <br /> agenda.. <br /> Relative to the reclassification study, Dick Shaughnessy <br /> moved that this be handled the same way as the previous <br /> article submission. Gloria Selander seconded t -e motion. <br /> All in fa-v6r. . So moved. <br /> B. Capital Program: -, D. Shaughnessy explained that we have an <br /> attractive building as it stands . He suggested that if we <br /> expanded it to two stories it could spoil the appearance of <br /> the building. Dick suggested extending the two wings and <br /> the center 'section. Helene suggested that the suggestion of <br /> using the attic for office space had some merit. Dick emelt <br /> that that could be included in the package. <br /> Discussion followed. <br />
