Denise Sullivan was present at <br /> the meeting but did not participate in any discussion.. Pr tyle , Chief of Police <br /> Robert W .ritenour, Executive Secretary <br /> Please note for the record that the taping of this meting is for <br /> the transcription of the Minutes only, once the Minutes are <br /> approved, the tapes will be reused. <br /> Minutes <br /> Sid Golub MOTIONED to accept the Minutes of February 13 , 1995 as <br /> written. Marcia King seconded the Motion and members approved 3-0 . <br /> The Minutes of February 14 , 1995 will be voted on at the next <br /> meeting. <br /> Barnstable County Discussion <br /> Mary LeClair was present at the meeting to discuss the finance <br /> department of Barnstable County and how it functions and interacts, <br /> She reviewed its history with the Finance committee and also <br /> provided a copy of the Barnstable County Annual Deport for FY94. <br /> She mentioned that Mashpee's total expense was $557,000, The Town <br /> of Ma hpee was responsible for $520,773 ; the I ashpee Housing <br /> Authority was responsible for $4,221 and the Water District <br /> provided $32 ,000. Thse payments were made in two payments in July <br /> and December. These funds pay for retirees' unfunded liabilities <br /> or early retirees. The Com ittee spoke about how the funds are <br /> ingested and calculated. <br /> Mr. Goggin .asked how the retirement is figured? Ms, LeClair stated <br /> that it was the same as with the State of Massachusetts. <br /> Retirements are based on the three highest years.. It depends on <br /> age and number of years worked, Retiremen uld be f the <br /> three highest years if the maximum number of years were worked. <br /> Mr. Goggin then asked about assessment charges. M . LeClair <br /> answered that there are two assessment charges. The first is a <br /> county tax and the second is paid to the Cape Cod Commission. The <br /> Co al from all Towns was $2 million. Ms, LeClair stated that the <br /> biggest portion of the taxes is paid to fund the jails, the rest <br /> helps offset the expenses for the health department, <br /> The Committee spoke briefly about the Cape Cod County Assembly. <br />
