Page <br /> Capital committee <br /> Mr. Golub noted that Bill Hauck was voted chairman of the Capital <br /> Committee at the last meeting.. At that meeting the Committee voted <br /> that $374,000 would be what they could approve in capital requests, <br /> At that meeting they stumbled upon $200,000 for computers, The <br /> Capital Committee felt that a presentation by the Computer <br /> Committee was in order. To date, there had been no information <br /> provided, The Computer Committee was invited to attend their next <br /> meeting, The figure is row close to $600,000, Mr. Golub felt that <br /> there was a big question of what iters should stick and what should <br /> not. Mr. Goggia asked what iters were contained in the figure <br /> $374,000? Mr, Golub mentioned the Council on , ging's van; machines <br /> for elections; study for fire stations renovations; Board of Health <br /> vehicle; Library heating; this years lease for police vehicles; <br /> communication for police officers; four- wheel loader, backhoe and <br /> sweeper forDPW; chipper; Heritage Park irrigation* copier; � <br /> conservation repairs to pond and computers. <br /> Mr. Goggia was surprised that Town Fall renovations were not <br /> included in that figure. Mr. Golub mentioned that the Executive <br /> Secretary was going to utilize free cash which remained in overlay <br /> for this purpose, The Committee agreed that the source of the <br /> funds was not the issue, but was Mr. Whritenour entitled to cast <br /> those funds for a specificurpse r. Golub stated that he was <br /> not in favor of earmarking.. <br /> Computer Committee <br /> Mr. Goggin stated that the Computer Committee was meeting on <br /> Thursday, Ms. Gre l.ish was asked to invite Tom Pucci to attend the <br /> Capital. Committee's meeting. <br /> Articles <br /> Ms. King felt that the Committee should have ars opinion of all <br /> articles. Mr, Goggin agr ed. Mr. Bacigalupi stated that <br /> explanations were clue in another weep or two. Ms. King informed <br /> the Gommitte that there are three articles for additional <br /> firefighters. The town is potentially facing hiring 12 <br /> firefighters, <br /> High school Discussion <br /> Mr, Golub stated that the Building Committee was $2 million over <br /> budget for the school. He felt concerned at the pressure put on <br /> the Selectmen last evening. Mr. Bacigal.upi stated that the amount <br /> cannot exceed what is appropriated by the Town, Ms, King felt that <br /> the inflation issue was being used as a club, She said that the <br /> School Committee was voting the next day. Nis. King was sure that <br /> talk would begin about an override. Mr, Bacigalupi stated that he <br /> had a dance to speak to the architects and the projections are <br />
