Ms. Wray stated that Falmouth has separated its two groups,maintaining a membership of 6-7 on their <br /> Affi rmative Action Committee and 10 members on their leo Place for Hate Committee. <br /> Matching Grant: <br /> The No Place for Hate Matching Grants Program will match any amount raised by a community up to <br /> 1000. Funds could be raised at such events as a silent auction or tho Immigrant Picnic. Ms. Brown <br /> questioned the destination of the funds. Ms. Wray suggested that the money could he used for an <br /> additional coordinating mural, printing materials or brochures for distribution and/or a mural on the <br /> CVS wall. <br /> The Enterprise Newspaper Article: <br /> Ms. Wray suggested that without a quorum, no vote could be taken on the Armenian 'issue, Ms. Brown <br /> volunteered to further research the ADL's position on the Armenian Genocide* <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS, <br /> No Place for Hate Cape Cod Coalition Mceting* <br /> The meeting will take place at 4 pm on Wednesday, June 3 at the Sandwich Public Library in Room 2. <br /> The meeting will be an opportunity to network and brainstorm with other No Place for Mate <br /> Committees from Harwich, Provincetown, Barnstable, Falmouth and Sandwich. AIT staff and <br /> Community NetworkCo-Chairs will also be present at the meeting. <br /> Additional No Place for Hate Projects: <br /> Committee members discussed the need to identify additional projects as well as create a detailed <br /> budget in order to be considered for the grant. Such ideas as a multi-cultural film festival, a <br /> community-wide book reading(Ms. Brown wil l contact her friend in Falmouth about specific details) <br /> and/or a potluck ethnic meal. FIs. Wray will further investigate the NPFH's "world of Difference" <br /> anti-bias training as well as a consultant in liashpee who offers diversity training. Committee <br /> members also discussed developing a mentoring program, one of which has been successful in <br /> Falmouth. An existing program in Mashpee has not taken off. Ms. Wray described the program as a <br /> mentor/mentee relationship to offer advice or sure as a sounding board, perhaps people workingin <br /> similar businesses or reach out to the schools. <br /> Increase€1 Involvement in Affirmative Action Committee: <br /> The Committee members expressed an interest in getting more members from the community involved <br /> with the Committee. <br /> MEETING ADJOURN II'�NT O <br /> The meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Jennifer M.
