3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 11, 2018 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Approval of Special Event Application, TemporarySign Permit Application, and Waiver <br /> of Tent Permit Fee for the Screech at the Beach 5K Road Race October 20 2018• Boys & Girls Club of <br /> Cape Cod: <br /> Ruth Provost was in attendance representing the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod to request the Board of <br /> Selectman approve the Special Event Application for the annual Screech at the Beach 5k Road Race. A <br /> Temporary Sign Permit Application for 24"x18" signage was also before the Board for approval in <br /> addition to a waiver of the $50 tent permit fee. <br /> The event is scheduled to take place in New Seabury on October 20, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. for set up with an <br /> 11:00 a.m. start. This is a fundraiser to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod. All necessary <br /> paperwork is in order for the Selectmen's approval, and applicable regulatory departments have signed off <br /> on the application with stipulations attached. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the Special Event Application of the Boys & Girls <br /> Club of Cape Cod to include the Temporary Sign Permit Application and waiver of tent permit fee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of Inclusion and Diversity Committee Policy #079• Initial Appointment of <br /> Inclusion and Diversity Committee: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed Policy No. 79, Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity Committee intended to <br /> replace the Affirmative Action Committee and No Place for Hate Committee in their entirety. Included <br /> was the request for initial appointment to this committee for six members at large at staggered terms. The <br /> School Committee is expected to appoint a School Committee member or designee. A non-voting student <br /> in their junior or senior year of high school has been designated to serve with appointment by the School <br /> Committee. There is one at large vacancy available to be duly advertised. Addition membership includes; <br /> Kimberly Landry - Compliance Officer (Non-Voting) —Term Expires: 6/30/1019 <br /> Winnie Johnson-Graham - Tribal Member Representative—Term Expires: 6/30/2019 <br /> Vacancy: School Committee Designee—Ternn Expires: June 30, 2019 <br /> Xavier Gonsalves - Student Representative (Non-Voting) —Term Expires: June 30, 2019 <br /> John Cotton - Selectmen Liaison <br /> Members at Large: <br /> Katherine Brown, JoAnn Nadeau, J.
