-2-
with donations and that there are quite a few churches in Mashpee who may be willing to
help. There is a new church coming to Town.
Donation Account
Janice asked what the status was as to whether they could have a donation account.
Marilyn had sent an e-mail to the Town Manager, however, she did not receive a
response. She will follow up.
Future Events
The committee members agreed that they needed to stay focused on the events that they
identified at a previous meeting for"No Place for Hate" activities: a table at the Pow
Wow, a table at Octoberfest, and a school diversity event. Patrick will follow up on
looking into a table at the Pow Wow and for Octoberfest. The school diversity event will
be something targeted for next Winter/Spring (2008). Patrick will also call Myriam
Zuber at A.D.L. to find out if there are any posters, flyers, etc. she could send. Also, he
will ask her advise on holding a forum. Janet asked Marilyn to check with Deb Dami
about the Women's Club. She mentioned that she didn't have a chance to find out
anything more relative to the Mashpee Church Village. Also, Marilyn asked if Patrick
would inquire about a banner when he called Myriam with the thought that we could
participate in the Town's Christmas parade.
Recruitment of Members
Patrick said that he would call a few people mentioned by Louise Patrick to see if they
bad interest in serving on the committee. Patrick will touch base with Steven to see if
there were other things that he was working on(i.e. interest from the Chamber of
Commerce).
St. Patrick's Day Breakfas#
Patrick reported that he and Steven Peters attended. It was a good event and they met a
lot of interesting people. They had a wonderful speaker at the event. Marilyn reported
that there would be a story in the newspaper and a picture of Patrick,
Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted:
Marilyn Farren
