AFFIRMATIVE ACTION COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> SEPTEMBER 10, 2004 <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Present: Elaine Good, Myrna Nuey, Melbourne Cragwell, <br /> Jan Strickland, Norma Kumin, Gordon Green. <br /> Meeting opened at 5:25 p.m. <br /> Jan read a statement he prepared regarding the most recent <br /> incident involving the Vernon Pocknett and the Mashpee <br /> Police officers. <br /> Gordon stated he would like to see an internal investigation <br /> of the police department. <br /> The District Attorney's recommendation is for Vernon <br /> Pocknet to plead guilty to disorderly conduct and charges <br /> will be continued without a finding. <br /> There are other harrassment cases out there that are not <br /> being addressed. <br /> Elaine Good would like to see a series of seminars and <br /> training sessions initiated to educate the community and the <br /> police department. <br /> Town employees (police) are causing problems in the <br /> community. <br /> Elaine read a letter she drafted in response to this incident. <br /> The proclamation is all about community: Mashpee is a No <br /> Place for Hate community. <br />
