4
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
August 21, 2017
APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS
Public Comment:
Lisa Frye and Arlene Petrunich initiators of the CPC project relative to the dedicated Pickleball courts in
the Town of Mashpee urged the Board of Selectmen to consolidate the two articles proposed to fund
the courts. Mrs. Frye indicated previously one article was submitted by the CPC for the project to work
towards fruition at two specific site locations in the event the permitting was not obtained for the
preferred site. In concern for the project and in moving forward, Mrs. Frye stated that two articles may
appear to be confusing to the voters at Town Meeting.
Mrs, Frye respectfully requested the Board of Selectmen place the Pickleball article on the warrant as
one article as it was originally written, and work towards moving this project towards realization. Mrs.
Frye indicated she would work with the Board to address any questions or concerns to ensure the
success of this project.
In other matters, Constantinos Mitrokostas in reviewing the issue of the outside patio and entertainment
of Finally Dino's was before the Board of Selectmen to sincerely apologize for his past actions. With
regards to potentially jeopardizing his license, Mr. Mitrokostas earnestly stated this was unintentional on
his behalf and he did not attempt to skirt the rules with the Town and State. Mr. Mitrokostas indicated
he has had a perfect record for the past 27 years, but the last few years have been very trying. Mr.
Mitrokostas stated his main focus has always been customer service and he did not intend to be
disrespectful. In closing, Mr. Mitrokostas stated it is his intention to regain the trust of the Board of
Selectmen and he is thankful to the Board of Selectmen for their support and conversation.
