Mashpee Waterways Commission Minutes <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Minutes of the September 11th, 2018 Meeting <br /> Chairman Bates called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM at the Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Ken Bates, Don Barton,Stan Healy, Don MacDonald,Steve <br /> Absent: Al Wicket,Tim Leedham,Steve Mone <br /> Also in attendance:AI Turner, Harbormaster,Asst. Harbormaster,Rick York, DNR,Ashley Fisher,Shellfish <br /> Constable <br /> Ken Bates called for a moment of silence in memory of all the victims of the September 11`"terror <br /> attack. <br /> Don MacDonald made a motion to approve the minutes of August 14th, 2018 and was 2"a by Stan Healy, <br /> and unanimously approved. <br /> Communications and Correspondence: <br /> Correspondence and documentation were received on three pier and ramp projects that have been <br /> proposed for review. The projects are at 61ehu Pond Rd. (Pier/ramp/float), 17 Cedar St. <br /> (walkway/ramp/float) and 266 Monomoscoy Rd. (pier/ramp/float walkway). AI Turner commented <br /> that he was not aware of any issues with the 17 Cedar request at this time and had no comment at this <br /> time on the 61ehu Pond project. Rick York stated that the 266 Monomoscoy Rd. request is under stop <br /> work order status and not presently under review. <br /> Old Business <br /> Harbormaster Report: <br /> Ai Turner gave the following report: <br /> Waguo t.Bay: Boat traffic has been busy in the Bay with no incidents to report. <br /> However, at 4:00 PM on September 2,there was a distress call received that involved the Coast Guard. <br /> Early on,there was some confusion as to the actual location to respond to. Finally,there was a tracking <br /> report of the woman and kayak%mile off of Waquoit Bay. The SARS system was activated and two <br /> boats were deployed in search, Working the coastline,Al spotted this woman on shore, not in distress. <br /> It was determined that the distress call was a false report and a criminal court appearance is scheduled. <br /> Popponesset Bay: Al reported that a boat on a dock at 30 Ockway Road was taking on water. The <br /> water was removed by pump and no gasoline or other fluids were released. <br /> Mashpee/Wakeby: Al commented that a heavy patrol schedule continues at this location, A$100 <br /> citation was issued for bow riding,and more safety inspections were enhancing compliance. <br />
