k� <br /> Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> April 1, 2014 at :30 p <br /> wa uoit Meeting Room, Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Chairman Walter Abbott, Berkeley Johnson, Allan Isbit <br /> Also Present: Selectman Mike Richardson <br /> Absent: Kalliope E toff <br /> CALIF TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Abbott opened the meeting at 6:35 p-m. and the roll was called. <br /> APPROVAL OF S-March 4,2014 <br /> Mr. Isbitz recommended changes to the last paragraph at the bottom of page 2. <br /> Mr. Johnson made a notion to accept the minutes as amended. Mr. Isbitz seconded the <br /> motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> DLII BUSINESS <br /> 209 [old Barnstable Road <br /> The Chairman reported that he had del ivered the Affordable.Housing Committee documentation to <br /> Town lull but that it was too late to be added to the upcoming Board of Selectmen meeting. <br /> Additionally, Chairman Abbott reported that he had contacted Natural stage, noting that he had <br /> previously provided their contact information to both the Assistant Town] tanager and Horsley <br /> Whitten, and learned that no one had been in contact with them regarding the box turtle issue. <br /> Natural Heritage.informed the Chair that there was an application and $300 fee that would be <br /> needed to be considered for a waiver. The Chair provided the form to the Town Manager, who <br /> indicated that it would not be completed untie the Board of Selectmen voted to move forward on the <br /> parcel The Chair reported that there would be no need to swap land since the parcel was less than <br /> acres and that Natural Heritage would issue a waiver. Selectman Richardson confirmed that he <br /> requested that the item-be added to the agenda. Selectman Richardson indicated that funds from the <br /> feasibility study could not be used to pay for the waiver application, but that the Town would be <br /> able to fund the application_ <br /> wampanoag Presentation-Leon Jacobs,Interim Director of Housing <br /> Mr. Jacobs was present to provide a status update on the development of Wampanoag housing. Mr. <br /> Jacobs discussed his background and his many years working with HD. Mr. Jacobs was invited t <br /> assist the warnpanoag to develop a package, as part of the stimulus progan-, to acquire Funding for <br /> the wastewater facility and has continued to work with the Tribe for the last 3-4 years. W. Jacobs <br /> confirmed that the Tribe had also requested a waiver for the box turtle, though a sweep was needed <br /> despite locating no box turtles, and thanked the Town for them efforts to assist the Tribe. r. <br /> Jacobs indicated that the Tribal Council was committed to working with local code �Is and <br /> conforming to Mashpee's overall plan. Mr. Jacobs introduce Valerie Molokwu who has worked <br /> with the warnpanoag Housing Department since 2009. <br /> Regarding the housing, Mr. Jacobs stated that the wastewater facility was in place and suggested the <br /> p <br /> ossibility of tying in to the system since it.had been overbuilt.
