Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> July-1,2014 at :30 pm <br /> Waquoit Meeting Room, IVlashpee gown Hall <br /> Present: Chairman Walter Abbott,Kalliope Egloff, Berkeley Johnson, Allan lsbit <br /> Also Present: Selectman Mike Richardson, Marie Stone, Leedara Zola from Habitat for <br /> umam*ty Cape Cod <br /> CALL TO ORDER , <br /> Chairman Abbott opened the meeting at 634 p.m. and the roll was called. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Habitat for Humanity Discussion <br /> Leedara Zola, from Habitat for Humanity's Land Acquisition group, was present at the meeting <br /> to discuss an application to the Mate's Local Initiative program. Ms. Zola indicated that the <br /> application would ensure that homes would be deeded affordable mn perpetuity through the Mate <br /> program, as well as to acquire certain zoning waivers through 40B. The two parcels Within the <br /> application included the 10Orchard and 68 Strawberry parcels(though it was noted that the <br /> 911 Working Croup would be requestmng a name change for the Strawberry address). Ms. Zola <br /> confirmed that, in responding to the Town's RIFF, Habitat had resolved some tale issues on the <br /> parcels a well as worked to develop solar program. Ms. Zola indicated that the homes would <br /> be sited in such a way that they could be candidates for solar panels. Additionally,Ms. Zola <br /> noted that the homes would be outfitted with an energy efficient air to air heat pump. Ms. Zola <br /> requested that the Cottee sign the application and submit a letter of support to be submitted <br /> to the Board of Selectmen for their support. The letter of supporthould be directed to <br /> Department of Mousing&Community Development and IVIS. Zola indicated that she would <br /> forward the information to the Chair. <br /> MOTION: .Ms. Egloff made a motion that the M shpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> sign the local initiative form and write a letter of support for 108 Orchard load and the <br /> property formally 68 Strawberry-Road,now known as 132 Quinaquisett Avenue. Mr. <br /> Johnson seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> The Chair signed the application. IVIS. Zola indicated that a family would not be selected for the <br /> property until the Z A process was in place,but noted that she would keep the Committee <br /> informed. Selectman Richardson inqu ed about the Street Name Changing Committee and it <br /> was confirmed that 911 Coordinator Clay Nicholson requested the change. <br /> New Member <br /> Marie Mone,Tribal Council Secretary, indicated that she had applied to become a member of the <br /> Affordable Housing Committee. Ms. Stone noted that she was the sister of Alice Lopez and had <br /> served as a liaison to the Housing Department back in 2007. Ms. Mone summarized her work <br /> history and noted the challenge of identifying a replacement for Ms. Lopez's position and her <br /> appreciation for Leon Jacob's assistance in the meantime. Chairman Cromwell submitted a letter <br /> in January and Ms. Stone submitted her letter last evening. his. Egloff spoke very highly of IVIS. <br />
