The <br /> Chair reviewed action items listed in the Production Plan, questioning whether or not they had <br /> been completed. Ms. Egloff recommended that the Action Items appear on the agenda and that <br /> the responsible Board/Committee be contacted recommending action on the item. The Chair will <br /> add one or two to each agenda. <br /> Mashpee Commons <br /> John Connell of Mashpee Commons has completed the floor plans and appearance of their units, <br /> and has offered to return to the Committee for another presentation. Mr. Isbitz confirmed that, in <br /> conversation with the Town Manager, there was conversation regarding adopting a policy of <br /> visitability. <br /> NEWS <br /> The Chair referenced an article regarding Dennis affordable housing which he distributed among <br /> the Committee members. The Chair had also forwarded information regarding the October 15 <br /> land view visit by Habitat for Humanity on Quinaquisset Avenue. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Dearing Regarding Water Quality Management <br /> The Chair received a notice regarding an upcoming meeting at Mashpee Town Hall, 4-6 p.m. on <br /> October 21. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS NOT ANTICIPATED <br /> Funding Sources <br /> Ms. Stone inquired about DHCD funding and who was responsible for making contact. The <br /> Chair indicated that DHCD funding was utilized for the Old Barnstable Road feasibility study. <br /> Ms. Stone stated that a grant alert had been released from DHCD. Ms. Egloff noted that the <br /> Affordable Housing Trust had fiduciary responsibility while the Affordable Housing Committee <br /> was responsible for education and planning, as well as alerting the appropriate individuals of <br /> grant opportunities or recommending funding sources. Ms. Stone offered to look into the grant <br /> in order to determine eligibility. Mr. Isbitz,suggested following up with the Town Manager to <br /> identify the next step and whether there was need for additional funds and the Chair offered to <br /> contact Ms. Mason. There was discussion regarding housing eligibility, including median <br /> income and HUD definitions of low income. Ms. Egloff recommended that an emphasis be <br /> placed on housing as accessible workforce housing, such as for teachers, first responders, retail <br /> sales—entry level jobs would qualify and represent average working families. The Chair shared <br /> specific statistics regarding Mashpee residents that would qualify. Mr. Isbitz emphasized that it <br /> was a middle income issue. The Chair suggested an on-air forum,perhaps through an interview, <br /> in order to better communicate the goals of the Committee. Ms. Stone recommended thinking <br /> outside of the box to communicate with an audience and Ms. Egloff recommended focusing on <br /> education. <br /> Paul Ruchinskas Letter <br /> Ms. Egloff recommended a letter be sent on behalf of the Town of Mashpee thanking Mr. <br /> Ruchinskas for his efforts and congratulating him on his retirement. The Chair will follow up <br /> with Ms. Mason regarding a letter of commendation. <br /> 2 <br />
