MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 2412018 <br /> NEW HEARINGS <br /> 9 Kanter Lane: Owner, Laura Kanter requests a Special Permit under §174-33 to allow <br /> for construction of a coastal bank walkover structure with a 4' x 4' landing at the top of the <br /> 4' wide stairway, which will descend a stone embankment on property located in an R-3 <br /> Zoning District, Map 119 Parcel 1-D,Mashpee, MA. <br /> Mr. Kieran Healy, with BSC Group representing Laura Kanter. The plot plan depicted a 4 <br /> x 4 landing highlighted in green, with a walk-over stairway to get to the beach. He also <br /> pointed out a similar designed structure at the adjacent property. There is no work being <br /> done to the house; it's just a simple walk-over structure to the beach. The structure is made <br /> of wood. <br /> The Board reviewed the site and thought there was a pre-existing structure already in place. <br /> Mr. Healy said; no. <br /> Scott had no issues. Jonathan had no issues. Brad had no issues, and Sharon has no issues. <br /> Mike Mendoza,Building Commissioner said there is no building permit involved.It is only <br /> an approval from Conservation building within the 50 ft. buffer that can be reviewed while <br /> the applicant is present. <br /> Mr. Healy said they received Conservation approval. <br /> Scott said that he has constructed these types of structures and never had any issues. <br /> Mr. Furbush wanted to know why the Harbormaster hasn't sent any comments. He read <br /> the Conservation comments into the record. <br /> Brad read the Inspection Department comments into the record. <br /> Mr. Furbush told the applicant if any artifacts are found while digging, please refer to the <br /> bylaw regarding Archaeological Sensitive areas. <br /> Scott made a motion to approve the application at 9 Kanter Lane. Brad seconded, yes. All <br /> were in favor and approved the construction of the walk-over structure to the beach area. <br /> 2 <br />
