Last year,two boat engm' es were proposed. The capital budget for <br /> Y 14 appropriated funding in the amount of$4 1 fi5 6 to purchase 1 engine for <br /> the.de -safe-boat,acquired.from Coast. uar& The-engine.for-the <br /> Blue Fin was not fuded in FY 14. <br /> The boat engines proposed for replacement include the following; <br /> 17' Carolina Skiff—Bvinrude 50 hp <br /> 18" Maritime Skiff—Yamaha 90-hp— 1837 hours <br /> 19' Carolina Skiff—Mercury 90 lip -2423 hours(2 006) <br /> 23' Blue Fin—Mercury 150 h (2003) <br /> In reviewing cost and maintenance assumptions, it was agreed the boat engines <br /> would be considered for-replacement in a rotation cycle. Discussion followed <br /> regarding the use of Waterways Improvement funding received from mooring <br /> fees for this type of egVdp ent need. It was decided the Bawd of Selectnauen <br /> would be consulted regarding the appropriation of funding for the engine <br /> replacement program. <br /> 5 Portable Radios-,$15,000—Year#1 of 4 4.,Year plan: <br /> A replacement plan for the purchase of portable radios was outlined by the Police, <br /> Chief for funding in the capital improvement plan. In Year#1, five radios are <br /> proposed for purchase at a cost of$3,000 each. <br /> Members of the CIP Committee _agreed this outlay in an equipment upgrade,and <br /> should be a part of the police department's operating budget. <br />
