7 <br /> Capital Improvement Program Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> Fe b 1132014 <br /> SCHOOL DEPARTMENT: <br /> School Business Manager Paul Funk and Network Administrator Sean Moroney <br /> were in attendance to discuss the capital needs of the School Department for fiscal <br /> year 2015. <br /> Last year through MCAT funding,the CIP Program funded$30,000 for Wireless <br /> Access. <br /> Wireless Access-$30.000 Year#2 of 3-Year Prog�ra . <br /> 1&. Moroney prioritized continued wireless access funding in FYI5 citing the <br /> need for reliable wireless coverage in the schools for education and recreational <br /> uses. Currently 20 access points have been installed in the High School fiddle <br /> School and 15 have been installed in the Quashnet School. Mar. Moroney <br /> indicated his goal is to complete the MHS/Middle and-Quashnet Schools this <br /> fiscal year. Thereafter,work would begin at the Coombs School. <br /> Core Network SMith RMIacement—Year# 000 of a 3--Year Pro am <br /> The purpose of this project is to replace aging Core networking switches to meet <br /> V AN and increasing data throughput burdens. The project is spread over a three <br /> year plan to meet the needs of the School Department. The tom cost of the <br /> project is$105,000. fi r. Moroney indicated there is no subcontractor involved as <br /> he completes the work in-house. <br /> Carousel J e; <br /> It was noted the IT Director is planning on upgrading Carousel <br /> telecommuni <br />
