6 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> April 2 , 201 <br /> CPA location—Connnunily Park Re-Development Project, Phase II <br /> licant: DMartment of Public Works Memorial Park Committee: <br /> Phase II of the Community park -Development project was presented to the <br /> Committee by Catherine Laurent,Director of Public Works. At the <br /> recommendation of the Commuruty Preservation Committee,the May 2013 Town <br /> Meeting voted to appropriate from CPA funding, $235,000 to complete Phase f of <br /> the Co mu ty Park project located on 'own-owned property. <br /> The cost of phase 11 is11 1,00 . <br /> Ms. Laurent indicated she is confident the project would be accomplished within <br /> budget projections. It was noted that additional funding$35,000 has been secured <br /> o date through donations and Chapter 90 funds would be utilized for road related <br /> work as part of the Great Meek load and sidewalk project. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the restroom facilities and the potential to <br /> incorporate an additional unisex bathroom. It was noted the proposal as outlined <br /> includes two handicap accessible restroom facilities. The proposal to be <br /> independent of the Archives would be designed as a separate egress for <br /> community use. It was noted the septic system is adequate for this project. <br /> Available funding would allow for hmediate construction.to complete the project <br /> y the suer of 2014. <br /> With regards to the status of the.Archives building, it was noted the scope of the <br /> project has been reduc6 ed to remain within budged constraints, and the Town <br /> intends to act as the general contractor in this project. As a result, in <br /> capabilities would be used where appropriate. Two invoices are before the <br /> S <br /> Committee for approval relative to revised engineering plans for the Archives <br /> facility. <br />
