Conservation Commission <br /> Minutes f May 9, 2013 <br /> Public Hearings <br /> M shpee Town Mall — Ockway Meeting Room <br /> Commissioners: Chairman John Fitzsimmons, Vice Chairman Ralph Shaw, Brad Sweet and John Rogers <br /> Staff Present: Drew McManus (Conservation Agent) and Iris Carpenter(Administrative Secretary) <br /> Call Meeting To Order: 5:55 pry <br /> The meeting was called to order with a quorum by Chairman F14simmons at 5:55 pm. <br /> There was no public comment. <br /> Pre/Post leaning An n Ja: <br /> 1 Minutes: Approval of the following minutes: April 11, 2013 <br /> Minutes approved by unanimous vote of the commission <br /> 2 Arneri erp Week c ante: <br /> Agent updated the commissioners on the latest information for Americorp week 2013. Discussion of <br /> projects and schedules <br /> 3 Request motion to amend catch up volume for Tidewat h (volume owed starts from 1995, not 1992L. <br /> Finalize Enforcement Order Ian I <br /> The agent clarified that the catch up volume of nourishment owed by Tidewatch Condos started in 1995 <br /> and not 9993 as originally interpreted. Enforcement Order language for 43-1166 was finalized. <br /> Commission voted to approve changes. <br /> 4 Billie and David Ka - Recognition of donation to the Mash ee Conservation Dept. <br /> The ant wished to recognize the donation of$399 to the Conservation Trust Fund from David an <br /> Billy Kapp. The commission recommended a certificate of recognition. <br /> 5) Mash ee Wildlife Refuge-e: ro o ed prescribed burn town owned lands)- Toren Ea le. <br /> Torn Eagle SF WS explained the next steps in place for prescribed burning and fire break creation at <br /> Jehu Pond Conservation Area. Most work will take place on federal and state lands with a few breaks <br /> to be created on town owned land within the refuge. No commission vote,just information given. <br /> 6) Enforcement: 37 Frog Pond Close: vista runin <br /> Jack Vaccaro spoke to the commission regarding the unperrnitted vista pruning that.has taken place at <br /> 37 Froggy Pond dose. The homeowner claims he was given verbal authorization for the pruning back in <br /> the early Bos from the Conservation Dept. The Agent could not find any corroborating evidence to beck <br /> p the homeowner's claim, nor is there any documentation that world provide some sort of evidence.of <br /> authorization. The agent informed Mr. 1 acarro to have his client file for a N01 for continued vista <br /> pruning with the proviso that official corridors must be located in the field and represented on a plan of <br /> record. The homeowner must follow the most recent vista pruning protocols in the Chapter 172 <br /> Wetland Bylaw. <br />
