Volunteer Assistant <br /> January'2013 <br /> New Volunteers <br /> Tracy Henschel — Driver <br /> Ernie Cornelssen — Driver <br /> Joan DeAngelis — Driver <br /> Wendy Brady— Friendly Visitor <br /> Eda Stepper—Activity QeeadimatQF <br /> My calendar for January was very full with requests for new volunteer interviews. In <br /> addition to the five interviews I had, there were three cancellations. At this time, I have <br /> interviews scheduled as my schedule permits into mid-March. <br /> Drivers <br /> We are pleased to add three new drivers in January. Two of them are quite <br /> flexible and one has limited availability. In February I already have 4 appointments <br /> scheduled with potential drivers. Recently we have been able to fill requests easily. <br /> Front Desk <br /> Tax Abatement volunteers have been assigned to the front desk during the time <br /> we have needed extra coverage. In addition we have talked with, and started to use; <br /> some of our front desk volunteers who have been underutilized recently. <br /> One of our volunteers is now working on updating our"Front Desk Volunteer <br /> Manual" for assistance with training new volunteers and keeping all volunteers up to <br /> date on recent instructions. <br /> Driver Updates <br /> Annually we contact our drivers to update their insurance information, license <br /> and driving record and other information pertinent to their driving. This is ready to mail " <br /> on 2/1/13 and we are looking forward to the driver's response. We are grateful for their <br /> cooperation. <br /> Activity and Entertainment Volunteers <br /> With help from Christine Foisy, we are scheduling a meeting with volunteers who <br /> are leading many of our groups and who are assisting with entertainment. Some of <br /> these volunteers have not yet signed up as volunteers and we would like to get them as <br /> a group to do the paperwork to be included in our volunteer corps. Christine has <br /> developed job descriptions for both groups which we want to share, and we will review <br /> our Behavior Policies for participants and other information generally given to volunteers. <br /> This meeting will be on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10 AM. <br /> I would just like to say that I am thrilled to welcome Lynne as our new Director. We have <br /> worked together for over 10 years and I have thoroughly enjoyed her leadership.
