Minutes of combined Meeting Ma pee Design Review Committee and Mashpee Plan Review committee Held Tuesday, September-16, 2014 Mas pee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting.Koen Design Review Members Present: Joseph Cummings and William.Blaisdell (ZBA) Plan Review Membem Present: Tom Fudala, Town Planner Dreg► McManus,.Conservation Agent Glen Harrington, Health Agent Michael Mendoza, Building Commissioner Scott earline, Police Department Joel Clifford, Fire Inspector Audience: Veronica Botelho— Mashpee resident Michael Mendoza a called the meeting to order at 9:09 a.m. Sign Request to allow a sign on Great Nock Road south Giving directions to the Mashpee-Congregational Church At the Popponesset Marketplace R e resentative — Bud Abbot Bud Abbot appeared and said he is a member of the Mashpee Congregational Church at the Popponesset Markitplace and they hope to put a sign alongside the children's Museum sign. They are using r. Day to do the i n; the specs ►ill be the same as children's Museum sign. Mr. Abbot g said John Benz, Mashpee Commons okay with doing this, and Mr. I n signed the application; Smitty's a lessee) said It is okay; and Catherine Laurent, DPW, said it would be no problem. Torn F data asked if they are sure of property o i►nership.- Bud Abbot responded "fires"--confirmed by Town Hall. Bud Abbot explained it would be a directional sign and would inform people there is a church at Popponesset Marketplace. Tom Fudala advised that under the signage by-law this sign would be prohibited because it is not advertising the product or service sold by the owner of the property. Torn said the simplest approach would be to try to get sign placed on road layout. William Blaisdell said sign would be advertising a building, not a service, so it would be considered a directional sign; however if considered advertising then would be prohibited under signage by-law since not owner of the property.
