This narrative is intended to provide the Town Manager and the Selectmen with <br /> information on the planned construction of two attractive demonstration gardens on Town-owned land <br /> adjacent to the community garden plots south of Main Street. <br /> ELC staff has been working with Town staff, including the Conservation Agent and Catherine Laurent, <br /> Director of the DPW, as well as AmeriCorps staff, the Wampanoag Tribal Nation, and the Friends of <br /> the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge to help plan for a successful week of community service by <br /> volunteers and AmeriCorps during the week of May 20-26, 2013. ELC has already assessed six <br /> locations in Mashpee for development of as many as eleven pollinator/wildlife gardens. <br /> The Mashpee Conservation Commission has narrowed the sites to three: <br /> • Two gardens at the Community Garden site on Main Street <br /> • Two smaller entry gardens at the Jehu Pond Conservation Area (part of the Mashpee National <br /> Wildlife Refuge)parking on Great Oak Road <br /> • An entry garden at the Pickerel Cove Recreation Area just north of the parking area on Cove <br /> Road and Main Street in Mashpee <br /> P.O.Box 187,Mashpee,MA 02649 Office:508-539-1912 <br /> Email:info@michael-talbot.com Fax:508-539-8865 <br />
