1 lashpee]Environmental Oversight Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> February 13, 2014 at :00 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Popponesset Meeting Room <br /> Present: Chairman George Petersen, Selectman John Cahalane, Ted Theis,Rick York, <br /> Michael Talbot <br /> CALL To ORDER <br /> The meeting was opened by Chairman Petersen at :03 p.m. with a quorum. <br /> APPROVAL oP MEETING TES January 9, 201 <br /> Selectman Cahalane made a notion to accept the minutes of January 9P. Mr. Theis <br /> seconded the motion. 4 votMyes, 1 Committee member arrived after the vote <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Chairman Petersen announced that Town Planner Torn Fudala forwarded documentation that <br /> there would be no delay in implementing the new flood plain maps. Selectman Cahalane <br /> confirmed that the Board of Selectmen accepted tfie flood plain maps for Town Meeting as it was <br /> required in order to be eligible for flood insurance and federal funding. Mr. Talbot referenced <br /> legislation that passed the Senate, but was stuck in the House. <br /> The Chair also referenced a non-binding article on the warrant regarding withdrawal from the <br /> Cape Cod Commission, <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> OLD SSSS <br /> Combine Water-Sever <br /> Ir. Talbot indicated that the Sewer Commission intended to complete their final plan by the <br /> summer. Selectman Cahalane pointed out that the water District would be taking over the <br /> planning and suggested the possibility that they may not utilize the Sewer Commission's plan. <br /> Selectman Cahalane added that the legislation was again on hold to combine water-Sever as the <br /> State was questioning additions made by the water District. Selectman Cahalane noted that the <br /> legislation was good only for two years from the Town Meeting vote, and that the date was <br /> approaching, which would require starting the process over. There was discussion regarding the <br /> need for a Flan B should the legislative effort fail. IVB-.
