The torn currently has 42% of its land in conservation, recreation: or open space. Every dollar kept off the tax rolls is a tax burden redistributed to all other taxpayers. Placing land in conservation permanently ntly restricts possible future use of these parcels. If Article 21 is approved, conservation lands will remain permanent forager. If the article is indefinitely postponed or is voted down, the conservation land will remain status quo. Torn Mayo's's presentation on the background and clarification of Article 21 gill be rade available at the Town n M ting on May 6th. • Transfer Request—Joyce Mason Charles G si r reported on ar transfer request in the amount of$8,500 for the Veterans Benefits line. The current balance i $9,295.29. $6,500 t $8,500 is needed its addition to Chapter 11 funds to gal through the fiscal year. Theresa Cook made motion that the-Finance Committee approve a transfer request of up t $8,505 for the Veterans Benefits Tina. Oscar Kl n rt seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. Charles Gasior distributed information to the Committee member on School finances through the end of Manch, and B S meeting minutes from their last meeting. Theresa Cook commented that there is a lot of money in the school budget in encumbrances, a balance of 5 .3 million.
