Ms. Cook reported that the Committee met <br /> n Sept. 16 1h, and gent over Section 4 of the Charter that applies mainly to the Town n Manager. <br /> After review and discussion of applications received from three attorneys who applied for the <br /> appointment,ent, Patrick Castello was selected by the Committee to serve as the Charter attorney. <br /> Library Boar'of Trustees— Theresa Cook. Ms. Cook reported that she was asked b <br /> the Trustees why the Finance Committee voted not to recommend approval of Warrant Article 1 <br /> requesting creation of a revolving account for the library through the Town Accountant. Ms. Cook <br /> invited the Trustees to attend a Finance Committee meeting to discuss the issue. The Library <br /> Trustees are planning a Public Officials breakfast, tentativel r scheduled for October 30th at the <br /> library, from 8 AM — 9:30 AM, inviting the Board of Selectmen, the Finance Committee and a few <br /> other Town officials, to find out what is happening at the library. <br /> School Committee-- Therese Cook. Nis. Cook stated that she will be unable to attend <br /> their meeting this wrek but left a packet of information including several questions about their <br /> budget. Ms. Cock spoke with Scott McGee and Don Myers giving them a heads up regarding the <br /> concerns included in her information packet. A meeting is scheduled for October '1 th at 3 PM for <br /> Board of Selectmen and Finance Committee representatives to meet with the Superintendent of <br /> Schools, with the purpose of keeping the ongoing lines of communication aper. <br /> Meeting ri h,Joyce Mason, Dawn Thayer, Torn Mayo— Sal Dffluono. Mr. DiBucno <br /> reported on a meeting with Joyce Mason, Darr Thayer and Tom May three weeks s ago, asking <br /> therm to produce a report for'those cast centers that both Charles Gasior and he have responsibility <br /> for. The report produced shows the 2010, 2011� 2012 and 2013 actual, 2013 budget and 2014 <br /> budget for each of the line `items for those cost centers for which Mr. Gasior and Mr. Di Buono are <br /> responsible. The report appears on the 1 lashpee website. Mr. DiBuonc stated that he felt it would <br /> be a useful tool for the upcoming budget and suggested that other cost centers might also benefit <br /> from such a report In their budget planning. <br /> Street Light Committee— Christopher Avis. Mr. Avis reported that the Street Light <br /> Committee is meeting Wednesday,ay, Sept. 25th, at 6:30 Phil with several private developments about <br /> putting streetlights in their neighborhoods. Cape Light Compact is willing to install the LED lights <br /> free, but it is up to the Town to maintain the lights and pay for the electricity. Pirates <br /> Cove and Popponess t Beach Deveioprnent representatives wiII be attending the,m etlnag ori <br /> 9/25113 for further discussion on the decision made by the Street Light Commute . <br /> Fire l e ar r en Charles Gasior. Mr. Gasior reminded the Cornrnittee that F1re Chief <br /> Baler is retiring on October 111h, 2013, and he felt that it seemed appropriate for the Finance <br /> Committee td present a plaque to Mr. Baker at the time of his retirement recognizing his 30 years <br /> f service to the Mashpee community. Mr. Gasior recited is suggested wording for the plaque. <br /> .Charles Gasior made a motion that the Finance Committee create a plaque honoring Fire Chief <br /> Baker on his 30 years of service as Mashpee Fire Chief, Christopher Avis seconded the motion. <br /> The motion was approved (5-0; Oskar Klenert abstained). <br /> Since no funding is available for theiaqu-e, the Finance Committee members agreed collectively <br /> Y <br /> to pay for the plaque. <br /> 2 <br />
