r <br /> (NEW BUSINESS, c nt'd <br /> • Review of Town Report—Charles Gasi r <br /> Chairman Mark Davini thanked Mr. Gasicr for his outstanding job every year in producing the Town <br /> Report. Mr. Gash reviewed with the Committee the details of the report. suggestions for several <br /> changes to the report were offered by the Committee members. <br /> - Christopher Avis stated his feeling that the way Article 1 is written looks as though it is a 1 % <br /> increase, and recommended that explanation should be included to clarify than the betterment <br /> would be based on actual cost: not the estimated cost. Explanations clarifying the issue can be <br /> addressed at the time of Town Meeting. <br /> Oskar Klenert questioned whether town employees should be able to vote on Town Meeting <br /> articles 2, 3� 4,5 that if approved, would transfer funds from the town's available.cash reserves'tc <br /> provide cost of living adjustments for town employees who are members of various labor unions. <br /> .Joyce Mason responded by stating that these are residents and taxpayers cf,the Town, and have <br /> every right to vote. Ms. Mason stated that resid nts and taxpayers can vote for articles on the <br /> warrant even if it benefits them. Mr. Ilenert requested a legal opinion In response to his question. <br /> Theresa Cock made a motion that the Finance Committee approve the amended Town Report <br /> submitted by Charles Gasi r. Christopher Avis seconded the motion. The motion was approved <br /> (5-0; Oskar Klenert abstained; George Schmidt absent). <br /> • Meed for Workshop re: Finance committee Mission.Statement <br /> Mark D vini stated that after reviewing sections of the Town Charter related to the Finance <br /> Committee and its Mission statement, he questioned the need for a workshop, stating that the <br /> Town Charter clearly states what the Finance Committee is all about, and what our responsibilities <br /> are. <br /> Theresa Cook made a motion that there was no need to have a Finance Committee Mission <br /> Statement workshop. sal DiBuono seconded the motion. The motion was approved (5-0; Oskar <br /> Klenert abstained; George Schmidt absent). <br /> Mark Da ini recommended that the Committee watt until after the October ToWn Meeting to revisit <br /> the reed for a workshop on the Mission statement for the Finance Committee. <br /> NEXT MEETiN — October 21, 2013; Joint Meeting with Board of Selectmen prior to Town <br /> Meeting —6:00 PM at Mashpee High school Principal's Conference Room <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> As there was no further business, Theresa Cook rade a motion that the meeting be adjourned. <br /> Christopher Avis seconded the.motion.
