SOUTH CAPE BEACH
JULY 6, 1994
PAGE TWO
A number of issues were raised by the Committee, which included:
1. Management of this facility, and the strong interest of
the Town in being involved in management, either solely
and/or jointly with the DEM.
2 . Fees to be charged for the admission to the New Town
Beach so as not to conflict and adversely affect
charges being made for the use of the current Town
Beach.
3. Control of ingress and egress to and from the current
Town Beach and New Town Beach facility.
4. Traffic, and other related matters.
The Commissioner stated that DEM has not, as yet, established a
management plan which would include the above, and related matters.
It was fully understood that there would be discussions relative
to same with the Advisory Committee for their recommendations as
development progressed and these situations arose.
Commissioner Webber anticipated that the project could start about
September 1994 , and hopefully, be completed by May 1995, prior to
the summer season of 1995.
The Advisory Committee recommended the construction of the New Town
Beach as proposed by the Commissioner.
Rep. Tom Cahir stated that with the limited resources in State
government at this time, this was a real testimony to Commissioner
Webber' s commitment to the development of the New Town Beach.
M. Kirsner, on behalf of the committee expressed his appreciation
of Tom Cahir' s support and assistance.
M. Kirsner indicated that he felt that Commissioner Webber and the
Committee had a great working relationship, and through all of their
efforts they would reach the ultimate objective.
The Commissioner stated that he was honored to be in a position to
carry this project forward.
Meeting adjourned at 8 : 30 p. m.
Respectfully submitted,
.rUibF%ti^
Barbara Ganno
Committee Secretary
