1' ASH EE WATERWAYS COMMI S O <br /> Min tes of January , 1944 <br /> Commissioners Present: Fred Fordham ,, Dan Home e r , James <br /> Hanks , Donald Lund ,, Lew Schwartz , <br /> Chairman Bennett Gordon . <br /> Others present: Perry Ellis , Harbormaster and Herb Silver . <br /> The greeting was called to order at 7:09 by the Chairman . <br /> PUgLIC COMMENT: Mr .. Hanks advised the brochure for the pump- <br /> out facility is being printed , status unknown . 1500 copies <br /> are on order and will be free . <br /> Dr . Gordon advised there is a Darr Action Grant , small grants <br /> of up t oo available for bays pollution prevention and <br /> awareness projects . Proposals are clue on Larch 30th . He <br /> asked for ideas to be discussed . <br /> Mr , Home er advised Boat US is funding informational projects <br /> for boating safety , which should be kept in mind for the <br /> Commission ps flyer . It is too late for 1994 but 1995 is <br /> Possible . Dr . Gordon stated he is hopeful state funding will <br /> be forthcoming for that project . <br /> MINUTES: <br /> VOTE : Motion rade and seconded to accept the minutes of <br /> December 7 , 1993 as presented . Unanimous vote . <br /> HARBORMASTER REPORT: Mr .. Ellis advised he will be mailing o u t <br /> the mooring bills , hopefully next week , with the pump-out <br /> ut <br /> flyer . All boats are out of the water and it is planned to <br /> start refurbishing them . e will b ordering new +88HP <br /> ` <br /> Johnson motor ,, 4 cost f 1 hic Y i h shipping g i *x'318 f . <br /> They will also provide catalogs for other equipment that can <br /> e bought directly with a discount for all government <br /> agencies . This does not include power trim or power tilt but <br /> information will be included to obtain this for the boat . <br /> Buoys have not been ordered yet; deadline is mid-January . <br /> W COMMISSIONER: Mr . Ho never advised Mr . Silver was asked to <br /> come in for an interview . The subcommittee has interviewed <br /> two people . The selectmen did not provide the subcommittee <br /> with the necessary information in the required time frame . <br /> He asked Mr . 5 i l ver ,what he thought he could bring to this <br /> board? <br /> Mr . silver advised he has been a homeowner ner i n New Seabur y <br /> s i nce 1979 . a summer resident , now permanent . He has a great <br /> interest in Ockway Say . He was one of the original people <br /> who began the Popponesset Say Association , now called Save <br />
