Town <br /> zsswn <br /> 16 GreatRoadNorth <br /> Mai. hFeei 9�Lq 02649 <br /> MASHPEE WATERWAYS COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES DECEMBER 6l 1994 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Bennett Gordon, Dan Ho a er, ' Jinn Hanks, <br /> Fred Fordham, Dan Lund', Herb silver. <br /> Also present was Perry Ellis. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7: 00 p.m.- <br /> PUBLIC <br /> .m.PUB I COMMENT PERIOD: George -Benway gage a presentation on <br /> properties with docks owned by Bill Cuming. M . Benwa <br /> distributed a schematic and land plot and suggested that the <br /> Town of Mashee burr this parcel which has a pier on Shoestring <br /> Bair, Mr. Benwa r is willing to work with the Town, and there <br /> is n .time pressure for the owner. Dr. Gordon -stated this would <br /> be good for the Town to acquire, but the money is needed on <br /> oonesset spit. Mr. Benway stated that Ma.shee could have <br /> a pier like other towns , there is an existing dock with 60 feet <br /> in front of the _pier. Mr. Ellis talked to Jack Sheppard who <br /> stated he will review land acquisition and get back to us. Mr. <br /> Home er would like to propose this purchase to the Selectmen. <br /> The property is already developed and permitted. Mr: I omeyer <br /> made a Motion to write a letter to the Selectmen recommending <br /> they take a look at the proposal Mr. Benway presented, noting <br /> that it would be beneficial to the Town since it is already <br /> developed and meets the criteria for ch. 90 and would provide <br /> the .Town with income boat launching) ; there are no zoning <br /> issues, - there is town water and electricity. Mr. Hanks suggested <br /> recommending further exploratory -activity into this matter since <br /> there are economl c issues that need to be worked out, The <br /> property will be referred , to as the "William Cuming Property. " <br /> Mr, Home rer revised his motion to recommend further investigation <br /> of the William Cuming Property leading to .acquiring a Town pier <br /> facility. The .motion was seconded, and unanimously favored. <br /> Tim Leedham' s presence was noted at the meeting. <br /> Mr. Homeyer requested the Waterways Commissioners to attend <br /> the Selectmen' s meeting next Monday nigjht and recommend Mark <br /> Sherman for the position of Assistant Conservation agent. -Mr. <br /> Ellis recommended hist for ' this new position, noting that he <br /> is an excellent, reliable worker. Dr. Gordon noted Mark' s good <br /> work record. Mr. Horerer noted that the ]personnel Board met, <br /> and Mark is not their recommendation. <br />
