MINUTES <br /> SOUTH CAPE BEACH S'K'ATE PARD ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> APRIL 2 , 1994 <br /> PRESENT: Chairman Morris Kirsner, John Cramer, Francis <br /> LeBaron, William Martiro , Jerry Monaghan, Ben <br /> Lofohie, Catherine Conroy, Winnie Woods , Tom Chir, <br /> Richard Flemming ( South Cape Beach Supervisor) ,, <br /> ABSENT: Bruce McHenry (excused) , �_ ,, R. Patrick <br /> Ellis , Renee Fudala. <br /> Meeting was called to order at .m. <br /> Chm. Kirsner welcomed Winnie Woods , a new member. <br /> Minutes of the February 22 , 1994 meeting were accepted. <br /> I, DISCUSSION OF STATUS OF GREAT OAK ROAD: <br /> Presenter not present to dive report. <br /> II. DISCUSSION OF NEW TOWN BEACH: <br /> Chin. Kirsner reported on the meeting held with Commissioner <br /> Webber which was attended by Chm. Kirsner, Tom Cahir, Jerry <br /> Monaghan, Bruce McHenry, Winnie Woods, and key persons from <br /> DEM, This was a positive meeting. The funding for this project <br /> has been committed by DEM with no conditions, and we are ready <br /> to go ahead. It will be mana c-ed jointly between the town and <br /> state until such time that the town decides to tape it over, <br /> and it will be open to the public. Commissioner Webber plans <br /> to come down in a few weeks with his staff to meet with our <br /> Advisory Committee to discuss the details. Chm. Kirsner thanked <br /> Rep. Cahir for setting up these meetings with the State. <br /> Chm. Kirsner stated that funding is there to include repair <br /> of McGregor Road, Rep. Cahir stated that he represents <br /> Mashpee, and he wants to make sure Mashpee residents do not <br /> have to pay to eater this new beach; non residents will have <br /> to pay $2. 00 admission. Chm. Kirsner- stated that details <br /> recjarding the new beach will be resolved at 'down meeting, and <br /> the project would be completed 90-120 days from when it begins. <br /> Catherine Conroy raised the question whether- Mashee residents <br /> ill be responsible financially for this new development, and <br /> Chin. Kirsner reassured her that McGregor Road and the beach <br /> facility will be covered by State funds , and Great Oak Road <br /> funds will not be diverted. Mashpee residents will have the <br /> opportunity - to elect to take over the new beach, but the State <br /> will oerate it until such time. Mash-pee residents will have <br /> a choice of two beaches to visit. Fen Lofchie raised the issue <br />
