TOM CAHIR excused <br /> STATE <br /> PRESENT: NICK V NT ALIDES, COUNSEL FOR DEM <br /> SA DI WOLCHANSKI <br /> ALSO <br /> PRESENT: GEORGE COSTA, SELECTMAN LIAISON, GUS FREDERICK, LEISURE <br /> SER TICES, RICHARD F'LEMINC, SOUTH CAPE BEACH SUPERVISOR <br /> The meeting convened at 7 :05 p. m. <br /> The minutes of the Frebruarr 13, 1995 meeting were accepted as pre- <br /> -rented. <br /> The sole purpose of this meeting was to discuss DEMIs. South Cape Beach <br /> Recreation Area Management Plan. <br /> Ohm. Kirsner stated that he had prepared a summary f the major issues <br /> which should be addressed in order to try to expedite this matter t <br /> make it possible for the South Cape Beach State Park to open in June <br /> 1995, as scheduled. A number of these conc-erns deal with the question <br /> f monitoring the grounds , the sand dunes, the gates , monitoring access <br /> by ORV's and over-the-sand vehicles, whether, or not there would be <br /> sufficient lifeguards to supervise the beach area. <br /> As has- beenpointed out by other townspeople, the operation of the <br /> state facility has been projected to be for a period of one year, <br /> within which period of operation, manor situations will arise, <br /> Chm. Kirsner had discussed these concerns with Sandi Wolehanski and <br /> Nick Vontalides in hope --that something could be structured that <br /> could be beneficial, <br /> DEM has represented to Chr . Kirsner that they are willing to go on <br /> record that as problems should arise, they will meet with the committee <br /> t our request to address the problems to the extent that they can. <br /> They have expressed their cooperation. <br /> , Kirsner, In speaking with the representatives from 'DEM indicated <br /> that he would like them to guide the advisory committee to whom to <br /> contact to encourage the allocation of greater funding for the pu .- <br /> poses of monitoring the beach. <br />
