BRUCE MCHENRY (Excused) <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Charles Doane, South Cape Beach Supervisor <br /> II MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: <br /> The minutes of the meeting of April 3, 1997 were accepted as presented. <br /> III DISCUSSION OF THE ISSUE OF HUNTING ON SOUTH CAPE BEACH FOR 1997/98 SEASON: <br /> Chairman Kirsner explained that we have this responsibility to hold this <br /> meeting every year prior to the hurting season to have this issue resolved <br /> and determine whether or not at 'any particular point oftime hunting be- <br /> comes a conflict with the safety and best interest and Welfare of the general <br /> public. That is primarily the issue which we are confronted with. <br /> Discussion and in-put by members of the committee, opponents and proponents <br /> of hunting were presented to the meeting. <br /> Put to a vote: In fav r of hunting - <br /> Opposed: 3 <br /> Hunting will continue to be allowed on South Cape Beach for the 1997/98 <br /> season, <br /> Iv DISCUSSION OF MAINTENANCE OF GREAT OAK ROAD WITHIN THE PARK: <br /> Chm, Kirsner stated that this discussion would be suspended for a future <br /> meeting. <br /> V DISCUSSION OF LAND EXCHANGES <br /> Mr.. Kirsner explained that under the terms of the 1981 Agreement, there were <br /> various land exchanges that were supposed to take place, i. e. , the exchange <br /> f the current Town Beach for the New Town Beach; there are isolated lots <br /> within the confines of the park owned by the Town of I a hpee, and other small. <br /> parcels. Land exchanges cannot take place until a final decision is reached <br /> on whether the Town will accept the New Town Bead as the Town Bead or retain <br /> the current town beach. <br /> i <br /> i <br /> i <br />
