Rirsner reported relative to the September 15th meeting in Boston, in
Todd Frederick's office with the DEM. All committee members had been invited
to attend. Dorris Kir ner and Winnifred Woods were present from the committee.
Mr. Rirsyner made a presentation; Winnie Woods also made a presentation.
As a result, it was decided that the Town would receive the 10 acres.
Mr. Iirner has dictated a letter to the Board of Selectmen to determine the
specific purpose for. which the 10 A. Site will be used, and whether or not the
public will be involved
The Committee has agreed to furnish that information to DEM.
Legislation must be filed to have title to the area transferred from State-owned
land to the Town so that the Town has legal title, The Town will have to come to
some agreement relative to the planned use.
Catherine Conroy presented the question: iflf the Town takes over the 1C acre site,
and you say the State will allow usage, that means they will be coming in on
Tills Work Road. What is to keep the public from coming in to South Cape Beach
Estates? Why do they not redirect Wills Work Road on to the park and avoid South
Cape Beach Estates?"
Morris stated that that was something to be considered, something that cannot be
resolved at this meeting. We have a record of it,
Mr. Kirsner added that in the evert that legislation fails, the Commonwealth of
Nass, is obligated, in such instance only, to execute a lease for 99 years for
$1.00 to the Town. one way, or another, the Town will have that land.
•
