f
B
'
AUGUST 18 , 199
PAGE SIX
V DISCUSSION OF 10 ACRE SITE .- LEGISLATION :
hm. Kirsner stated - that - there has been legislation f iled ,.
and he will make certain that all of the members receive
copies .for their review and comment .
The purpose of the leg lation is to get title to the 10-acre
site tran.sf erred to the Town.
Morris explained that he was extremely disappointed in the
legislation since tonere were several paragraphs that were to-
tally contradictory to the Agreement of 1981 , such as , the Town
will have to pay all 'of the expenses or plans , etc .
The Inspector General has recommended that there be a certain
consideration for the transfer of title , which is also totally
contrary to the 1981 Agreement .
During the last meeting, M. T u ner expressed to Todd Frederick,
,
and to the attorney , the Town has already given consideration for
the transfer . The Agreement provides for a transfer, and it does
not discuss the exchange of any money. There is go-ing to be a ser--
ions argument on this issue.
Mr . Kir ner continued , "The greatest contradiction is , if the
legislation fails , according to the Agreement , then DENT is obliged
to execute a lease to the Town of Mash-pee for . 99 years for the
consideration of one dol lar . ,
Morris explained he plans to have a telephone conversation with
Tom Cahir next week. Tori Cahir suggested that Morris not get
disturbed , and to tell the member not- to be disturbed , because
changes in the legislation can be made.
VI ADJOURNMENT :
Meeting adjourned 8 : 30 - pe m.
NEXT MEETING: -TUE DA $ NOVEMBER 1 , 19982 7 : 00 P .
