a
w
After further discussion, it was agreed that a subcommittee comprised of Jack Cramer, Bill
Martfros and Jeralyn Smith would meet to prepare a list of things that were promised by the State,
confront the State representatives with the fist, and ask, "What are you going to do's"
TEN-ACRE SITE UPDATE
Authority over the site has been delegated to the Town, and is no longer this committee's
responsibility. The commiftee acts as an advisory to the Town. In an update to Jack Cramer from
Joyce Mason on October 1 g she proposed a meeting with the Selectmen and members of this
committee to discuss the bores of contention. once a memo of understanding is in place, a site
meeting should be set up with the principals to discuss parking, the condition of the road which
needs to be suitable for ambulance access, the size of the parking lot, hours of the Park, water,
lifeguards, etc.
Joe Souza stated that there is a proposal out that includes funds for maintenance. Are inquiry
was raised by the committee as to whether or not private donations could be solicited from the
community for maintenance/repairs. This idea will be investigated by the committee.
Jack Cramer reported on a fallback plan in the event that this committee got totally stymied on
any progress toward accomplishing what was promised by the state. Jack feels that the
committee has to do something that is beneficial to the community. .Jack net with Christine Gault
and asked how she envisions this Cormmittee relative to WB N ER I . Ire a fetter from Christine
Gault to Jack Cramer, she stated that there might be some things going on at WBNERR that
would benefit all of our communities if this committee would be willing to add a little push to that.
Joe Souza stated that the v B N ERR budget does not include the items now that this Commitf e
feels are a priority and that unless we push for it, they will continue to be pushed to the back
burner and will never materialize.
Jack Cramer asked Lance Lambro for his input on the subject. Lance agreed with Joe Sou a's
assessment that this committee-has never put pressure on WB N ERR for action to provide the
things that were needed, and did not put any pressure on our state reps for action. Lance is in
agreement that the committee should draw-p a prioritized list of items that were promised for the
Mate Pads, present it to WBNERR and press for action. The committee members-need to keep
consistent pressure on v BI` ER , taking turns contacting WBNERR each week until some
positive results occur.
Jack gamer stated that-the agenda for the next meeting of the committee vwrouId be to discuss
the results of the subcommittee's work on preparing a prioritized list of needs for the Mate Park.
The next, meeting of the committee will be some time in spring 2006, the enact date TB .
s there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:55 PM.
Respectfully submitted, +
Ina G. B lobohm
Iecordi Secretary
2
