The firm is recognized-as an expert on tribal negotiations.' It gra <br /> pointed out that this land issue is a four town <br /> ratter between Sandwich, Barnstable, Falmouth and <br /> Mashpee, with many political issues fnvolired. Town Counsel Pat Costello has stated that"the <br /> Town will do whatever is necessary to protect the Town's rights. <br /> The'corn mittee agreed that a letter with presentation of the fads to the state and local officials <br /> was a very good Idea. Robert Lancaster suggested that we first' send a copy of the lever to Torn <br /> cahir, who is an insider.but not an elected official, and ask him to critique and edit the contents <br /> before sending it on to the eluted state officials. <br /> Next Steps: the committee agreed that Jack should contact Tom eehir and send him Bill I1artiro's <br /> letter~as a first draft, to make him aware of our concerns, and get his input as to all those individuals <br /> he thinks should receive the letter. <br /> Establishment of Priorities for this Committee, <br /> The committee members agreed that the nU ber one prforlty of this committee now hould be to <br /> focus on efforts to preserve the South cape Beach Mate Park so that it will continue to be available <br /> for all of the citizens of the Commonwealth. <br /> Recruitment to fill Vacancy on the committee. <br /> Jack garner reported that the vacant seat on the Advisory Committee has beenosted since the <br /> beginning of the ear; with no responses r-eceiv p <br /> p ed, l"le recommended that the orrrmitte o out <br /> and recruit a candidate$ review credentials and-fill the position as soon as possible. <br /> Retirement of Joseph sour,,south cape Beach supervisor <br /> It was announced that Mr. Souza will be retiring at the end of.dune:2006. The committee agreed <br /> that Mr. Souza's service should be recognized. Jeral n <br /> rnr#h agreed to call Mr. Souza to get all the <br /> facts about his service, and will then girl' over the Information to the Selectmen for their action. Mr. <br /> Souza's replacement has not yet been announced. Jack.crarer stated that he willP Ian to meet the <br /> new supervisor in person, and Invite him/her.to this committee's next meeting. <br /> Jack gamer reported that the rock with the plaque at the Mate Park needs to be raised up, and wilt <br /> hope that this can be dote before l ir. Souza's retirement. � <br /> Next Meeting <br /> The next meeting date is to be determined. Email announcements of the date will be seat out to <br /> those who have email addresses.
