OTHER Ustl s Brenda ni Arnett reported that the Town now officially owns the 1 -acre site. Plans . 'areto.move the entry gate closer to the road. A legal agreement will tie in place betweeh.the-State-and-theTown, pertaining to the sect'ion.of hill's Word Road from the easement to the beginning of the 10-acre site. Currently the Town has the easement-right tb-maintain that road if they wartto. There will be an agreement as to how access.to the site occurs. The gate needs to be closed ih the eveninguring the summer. However, it needs to be closdd late enough and opened early enough to allow-access to the area. Lance Lambros stated that there is nervousness at Otis Al=I3 re rdin the 11 am' no g g P g intentions. if there is a big grab for a lot of different things, this committee should work together with other threatened areas. This committee alone does not have a lot of clout butJoining tgther'with other areas will strengthen our position. .The rights of the�Il r an ag will actually'go from' Il ashpee, Falmouth arrestable, Bourne, and Yarmouth. Depending on.how far the gibe wants to reach: there will be that many more people involved who will war�t tp work together to protect heir land ownership. Brendan Annett reported that the tape of I aquoit Bay and Washbulm-Island is the final productioh-co and is for the committee to keep. The original tape'with additional footage may have more views of South Cape Peach, which the committee is welcome to'view. Dill l lartiros stated that he feels the more the awareness of thecommittee's mittee's concern is co'nv a to the general public, the greater the likelihood is that it will help to influence their reminds about supporting the committee2s efforts. The-state park i -beneficial to the state and the town not only for the recr ational value of the beach, but also for the research and'scientific prof -conducted.there that are beneficial to the entire country. . a Souza stated,that ae ess by 50,000 people will'be talon away if the Town loses ownership of the park. NEXT MEETING The next meeting of.the South Cape Beach State Park Advisory Com rni tee was tentative) scheduled for Apel, 2007, unless some important issues come up before there that require aeon by the Comm' ittee.
