Jack Cramer stated that he had enjoyed working with the Committee, and expressed his
appreciation to them for their great work.
Ben Lofchie stated that Jack Cramer had done an outstanding job during his tenure as Chairman
on the Committee, and thanked him for all of his efforts on behalf of the South Cape Beach State
Park.
Joyce Mason will be notified formally of the Committee reorganization.
GENERAL DISCUSSION
Lance Lambros made the observation that although the State Park Advisory Committee was
created by the Town, it is responsible to act in an advisory capacity to the State. He stated that
the federal and the state representatives do not have the same kind of passion over the State
Park that is felt by the Town. State does not look at the park in the same way as a landowner of
Mashpee. That is why this committee must step up and be represented at negotiations at the
State level. The State representatives may heed the Committee Interests, or they may not, but it
is the responsibility of the Committee to represent the case for the Town to the State. Lance
Lambros agreed to make a few phone calls to his contacts at the State level to get an idea of how
the State is feeling about the State Park issue at this point in time.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting is to be scheduled for a date some time after the negotiation meetings between
the Town and the Tribal representatives, which are being held in July and August. Notices will
be sent out well in advance of the meeting date, which will probably be after Labor Day. The first
negotiation meeting on July 26 went smoothly, with two more meetings scheduled to follow.
Ben Lofchie moved that the meeting be adjourned. Lance Lambros seconded the motion. All
approved. The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
P'
Ina G. hlobohm
Reco d ng Secretary
2
