y <br /> Town of Mashpee <br /> 5y V { 16 Great Neck-Road North <br /> Mae, Massachusetts 02649 <br /> BOARD of HEALTH PUBLIC SESSION <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of May , 2013 <br /> Board Members Present: Members Absent: Also Present: <br /> Kalliope Egloff, Co-Chair Burton Kaplan, Chairman Glen Harrington, Health Agent <br /> Lucy Burton, Cleric <br /> Co-Chair Kalliope EglofF called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM- <br /> APPOINTMENTS <br /> IIS.APPOII TME QTS <br /> 7:15 PM — David Welch, Representative-- Board of Health Variance Request t—246 Great Pines <br /> Drive. <br /> David Welch, representing Linda Perrotta of 246 Great Pines Drive, introduced himself to the Board. <br /> Glen Harrington stated that there has been a request for a variance to the -year rule of the Septic <br /> System Inspection regulation. Mr. Harrington has net;been to the property of 246 Great Pines Drive, but <br /> hoto ra h have beenprovided. The tank may never have been serviced because there are no access <br /> p <br /> manholes cut into the deck. Mr. Harrington commented that there has been no septic inspection, and <br /> approval of the variance will be contingent upon a full inspection and-the condition of the septic tank. <br /> Mr. Welch was informed by Linda Perrotta, the owner of the property that the deck i completely over the <br /> septic tank. <br /> Lucy Burton made a motion that the Board of Health require a full inspection of the septic system at 246 <br /> Great Pines Drive with the Health Agent witnessing the septic tank and measuring the access to the <br /> tank. The Burd of Health will make a later decision based on the information that is discovered at that <br /> septic inspection. Kalliope Egloff seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> 7:20 PIIS —slack Landers-Caruiey, P.E. —Title V Variance — 36 Mick Trail. <br /> Stephen Palumbo of,Jack Landers-Cauley's office, representing Michael Reardon of 36 Nick Trail, <br /> introduced himself to the Board. <br /> Mr. Palumbo commented that there is an existing 2-bedroom cottage on the corner of Nick Trail and <br /> Uncle Henry's road. Mr. Reardon would like to upgrade the failed septic system because of groundwater <br /> issues, and Mr. Palumbo is requesting a -foot separation to the groundwater. Mr. Palumbo is proposing <br /> to elevate the system with a 1500 gallon septic tank and a pump chamber and place a leaching field on <br /> the side of the property. <br /> Glen Harrington made comments to the final plan; <br /> General Note #5 on Page 2 should have covers brought to within 6 inches of grade not 12 <br /> • inches. <br /> The stone depth in the leach field must be 6 inches minimum not 4 inches. <br /> The observation porn on Page 2 in the Profile states that they are to be placed according <br /> to the Town of Mashpee standards and requirements. Ilahpee does not have a <br /> requirement for the observation ports. It is a Title v requirement. <br />
