Gary and Kimberly Ridenour, owners of 24 Cranberry Lane, and Vicki McDevitt, owner of 30 Cranberry <br /> Lane introduced themselves to the Board. <br /> The owners of 24 Cranberry Lane stated that they will connect Ms. McDevitt of 30 Cranberry Lame to <br /> Town Water when the septic installation takes place. <br /> Barton Kaplan rade a motion that the Board of Health approve the variance requests submitted on <br /> behalf of 24 Cranberry Lane subject to a 1 -foot variance for the Soil Absorption System, ar -foot <br /> variance for the Reserve, a 3-foot'variance for the Reserve erve Area and subject to the Water District <br /> certifying that 30 Cranberry Lane has been connected to Town Water. Kalliope Egloff seconded the <br /> motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> 7:25 Phil -- cape and Islands Engineering —Title V Variance— 127 Whippoorwill Circle. <br /> ,John Slavinsky of Cape and Islands Engineering, and Ernie Virgilio owner of 127 Whippoorwill Circle <br /> introduced themselves to the Board. <br /> Glen Harrington commented that this is a septic repair of an existing four-bedroom dwelling that had <br /> been inspected for property transfer purposes and failed. Mr. Slaviny is requesting a one-foot drop to <br /> ground later for the Soil Absorption System. Mr. Harrington recommends pressure distribution to ;mitigate <br /> the variance. <br /> Mr. Slavinkky is requesting 3 variances: 1. One-foot drop to groundwater to provide a -foot separation <br /> to estimated high groundwater; 2. variance of 6 feet is requested from the pump chamber to the crawl <br /> space, 10 feet required; and 3. variance of 8 feet is requested from the Soil Absorption System to the <br /> crawl space, 20 feet required. <br /> Burton Caplan made a motion that the Board of Health approve the variance requests submitted on <br /> behalf of 127 Whippoorwill Circle subject to one-foot drop to groundwater to provide the 4-foot separation <br /> to the estimated high groundwater table; subject to a foot variance from the pump chamber to the crawl <br /> space; and subject to an -foot variance from; the Soil Absorption System to the crawl space. Kalliope <br /> Egloff seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. Sign Warrants. None. <br /> . Review/Approve BOH Public Session and Executive Session Minutes: Jul10, 2013. <br /> Approval of the corrected Board of Health July 10, 2013, ;minutes was continued until the next Board of <br /> Health meeting with a full Board in attendance. <br /> . Septic Tank Variance: 22 Littre Neck Lane. <br /> Glen Harrington commented that the owner, Mark Gurnee, submitted a letter requesting a variance for 22 <br /> Little Neck Lane. A septic inspection was performed on March 2 , 2013, for property transfer purposes. <br /> The septic tank is a 1,000 gallon H-10 tank installed in 1968. Mr. Gurnee is requesting a variance to <br /> leave the tank in service but strengthen the top of the tank with an engineered slab. Access and <br /> landscaping above the tank would ;;Hake removal very difficult and costly. <br /> Mr. Harrington stated that the Board has previously requested the septic inspector to certify that the tank <br /> is structurally sound. The solids levels in the tank were not taken by the septic inspector so a full tank <br /> inspection will creed to be performed. If the septic tank does not meet the neer criteria for structural <br /> integrity, then a concrete slab could be installed to extend the tank's useful life. <br /> Burton Kaplan made a motion that the Board of Health require a re-inspection of the septic tank and <br /> certification as to the integrity of the septic tank at 22 Little Neck Larne.
