Glen Harrington commented that the priority in Title V for the variances is to move towards the property <br /> line first then the cellar wall. The request for a variance to a property line if less than 10 feet is to make <br /> certain that the Soil Absorption System on the abutting property is not within 10 feet of the proposed <br /> septic. There are no systems within 10 feet of the proposed septic at 10 14Shore Drive. <br /> Lucy Burton made a motion that the Board of Health approve the variances as requested for 10 1 Shore <br /> Drive. Burton Kaplan seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. sign Warrants. The Board members signed the expense warrant. <br /> . Review/Approve BOH Public Session Minutes: August 2812013y and September 11, 2013. <br /> Burton Kaplan made a motion that the Board of Health approve the Public Session minutes of August 28, <br /> 2013. Luer Burton seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> Luer Burton made a motion that the Board of Health approve the Public Session minutes of September <br /> 11, 2013. Burton Kap Ian seconded the motion. The motion was unanim usly approved. <br /> I. Request for 2013 Food Establishment License: Oak and Ember—36 South Street. <br /> Glen Harrington commented that this is a new permit at the former Heathers/Bistro 36 location. The <br /> interior has not changed since Bistro 3 . The final inspection fr Oak and Ember was performed by Mr. <br /> Harrington on Tuesday, and all of the paperwork has been submitted except for the fee. <br /> Mr. Harrington and Mr. Catania discussed the outside dining area which has been enclosed with plastic <br /> sheathing and a canvas awning. Smoking outside in that dining area was-also discussed. Mr. Harrington <br /> infrared Mr. Cataria that according to the law one gall of that plastic siding had to be up for the space <br /> not to be considered enclosed. <br /> Mr. Catania remarked than he would like to expand and may consider adding outside seating along the <br /> sidewalk. Mr. Harrington reminded M'r. Catania to contact the management at South Cape pillage prig t <br /> the expansion. <br /> Luer Burton made a motion that the Board of Health approve the 2013 Food Establishment Permit for <br /> Oak and Embers Burton Kaplan seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br /> ADDITIONAL IAL TOPICS <br /> None. <br /> biSCUSSION <br /> KI Pills. <br /> Glen Harrington commented that the Burd of Health received a second batch of potassium iodide <br /> tablets since the fiat set expired in July 2013. This new.gaup of potassium iodide pills will expire in <br /> 2020. About 20 families have obtained there, and extra pills have been distributed to accommodate the <br /> summer population. If the supply of tablets is exhausted, more pills are available from the State of <br /> Massachusetts. <br /> Mr. Harrington will contact the school department to receive their input in distributing the tablets to the <br /> families: Children are the priority because they require more protection if there is an exposure. Mr. <br /> Harrington wilt also request feedback and opinions from the other departments concerning the potassium <br /> iodide pills. <br /> 2 <br /> 4 ' <br />
