10 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> November 8, 2018 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Review of Communication regarding the potential uses and demands for the Community <br /> Preservation Fund over the next 3, 5 and 10 years; <br /> The following departments submitted a response to the CPC regarding their request to gain an <br /> understanding of potential uses and demands for Community Preservation Funds over the next 3, <br /> 5 and 10 years. This information will be used to factor in the development of a spending plan <br /> and to assess the future of the CPC after the year 2020. <br /> Correspondence ftom Mashpee Housing Authority dated September 25, 2018: <br /> Leila Botsford, Executive Director of the Mashpee Housing Authority indicated the housing <br /> authority is uncertain on whether or not there would be an application to the CPC to continue the <br /> Housing Assistance Program. There may be a funding request to assist in the purchase of <br /> property to provide affordable year round rentals. <br /> To date,the CPC is in receipt of(2) applications from the Mashpee Housing Authority to <br /> continue the Housing Assistance Program and for a new Home Purchase Program. <br /> Correspondence from Mashpee Historical Commission dated November 1, 2018: <br /> CPA funding requests over the next 10 years for the Historical Commission include the <br /> following; creation of a historical path between the Community Park and Attaquin lot, the <br /> creation of a historical Mashpee Wampanoag Village to be staged within the Attaquin lot, the <br /> addition of a wood shed to complete the One Room Schoolhouse at the Community Park, the <br /> preservation of the Parsonage, and for the Mashpee 150t" celebration. <br /> Additional project needs include the creation of a complete historical documentary/book, the <br /> preservation of historical natural and physical properties, reclaiming the 12 Acre Lot for citizen <br /> use and recreational purposes, and funding for historical cultural program in the Community <br /> Park and Wampanoag Village. <br /> Correspondence from Planning Board dated November 1, 2018: <br /> Communication received from the Planning Board was revised and reflected in a memorandum <br /> dated November 8, 2018. Potential projects include the preservation of multiple parcels <br /> contained in the Town's Action Plan for Open Space Conservation, the need to increase <br /> community housing, a proposal to reconstruct the Attaquin Hotel, preserve the Parsonage, <br /> acquire and preserve the Potter Homestead as well as the Walter Mingo home and to preserve, <br /> restore and document the Town's historic cemeteries. A town-wide bicycle pathway system is <br /> also recommended as well as increased recreational facilities at Mashpee Pond. <br />
