MASHPEE COMMUNITY GARDEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCGAC) <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> NOVEMBER 20, 20'18 - 7:00 P.M. <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> Present: Virginia Scharfenberg, Pamela McCarthy, Mohamad Fand, Anthony Oliver, <br /> Irene Checkovich <br /> Absent: Michael Talbot, Stephanie Simpson <br /> Call to Order <br /> Chairman Virginia Scharfenberg opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. <br /> Minutes October 17, 2018 <br /> Motion: Irene Checkovich moved to approve the minutes of October 17, 2018 with one <br /> minor adjustment, seconded by Pamela McCarthy. Vote unanimous 5-0 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> REPORTS <br /> Report on Community Preservation Committee (CPC) Hearing on November 8, 2018 — <br /> M. Talbot—V. Scharfenberg <br /> Virginia Scharfenberg stated the Community Preservation Committee reviewed the proposal <br /> submitted by MCGAC on November 8th. She, Michael, Irene and Stephanie attended the <br /> meeting. Michael Talbot presented the proposal and answered any questions. CPC held a <br /> second hearing on November 15 to review the remainder of the proposals. They agreed that <br /> one of the members should attend the CPC meetings to follow their progress. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Continue Work on Draft Community Garden Regulations -- Irene Checkovich <br /> Irene noted she sent the draft of the Garden Regulations to the members. She stated she <br /> would like to change the bullets to numbers. There was a discussion on the fee. It was <br /> decided to set the fee at $20. There was also a discussion on how to amend the soil. It was <br /> agreed that the members would contact local businesses to request anything they can do to <br /> help with the gardens. <br /> Motion: Pamela moved the fee be set at $20 for 2019, seconded by Anthony. Vote <br /> unanimous <br /> 5-0 <br /> Irene reviewed item #3 which addressed whether or not people need to be a Mashpee <br /> resident. <br /> 1 <br />
