There was a
request sent to the town's currently participating secretaries and no one was able to take
on anymore boards at this time. Therefore the committee will have to record the meeting
from now on.
Motion: Marques made a motion accept recording the meetings. Holmes seconded the
motion. All voted unanimously.
Public Access:
No Update. There is a need to find more areas for access to water. Some
previously used areas are no longer available to the general public. The area once used to
access Shoestring Bay is private property and can no longer be used by the public.
New Business
Shellfish Aquaculture License Interest in the Waquoit Bay Area:Scott,Matoian
Mashpee resident Scott Matoian is interested in applying for a grant in the Waquoit Bay
area. The last area deemed to be an area with the least conflict for Shellfish Aquaculture
use is located in the northern part of Hamblin Pond. This are is just south of the
contaminated closure, and north of the smallest island in the pond.
Holmes: "Is the area to close to the contaminated closure line in the pond? Also, is this
area in Falmouth or Mashpee?"
Fisher: "No the area is outside the contaminated area, and the area is in fact in Mashpee.
The USGS map overlay of the town boundary over water is wrong and this has been
worked out in the past. I will need to contact the planning and/or the accessing
department to get a more concrete answer on that observation."
Additional Topics:
Shellfislt Mitigation Plait Draft (Modeled from the Dennis Department of Natural
Resources):
Fisher: " I have written a Shellfish Mitigation Plan for all new docks moving forward is
shellfish-suitability areas mapped by the Department of Marine Fisheries.
