Office— 2:00 PM <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of Thursday, April 25, 2013 <br /> Committee Members Present: Members Absent: Also Present: <br /> Ruth Elias, Chairman Elinor Glen r, Clerk Gail Wilson, Human Services [Director <br /> Janice I alf rd, Vice Chairman Gus Frederick <br /> Veronica Warden John Cahalane <br /> Cathy Mohler-Faria Lynne Waterman <br /> Mary Scanlan <br /> CALL TO ODDER <br /> Chairman Fruth Elias called the meeting to order at 2:00 PM. <br /> REVIEW OF MINUTES — 112411 <br /> The minutes were amended to include Gail Wilson's name ars being present at the meeting. <br /> It was moved and seconded that the minutes of the meeting of 1/24/13 be approved ars amended. <br /> The motion was unanimously passed. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1 Food Drives: Election Day and Town Meeting <br /> Gail Wilson stated that there will be a notice in the paper for both the Election Day drive, and the <br /> Town Meeting drive. Veronica Warden stated that Glen Harrington volunteered to assist her with <br /> pickup up f the food donations the next day after both events. The donations will be distributed at <br /> three locations: Falmouth service Center food pantry; St. Vincent DePaul; and a small amount to <br /> the Mashpee Village, as they have limited space. The food donations from both events will be <br /> stored at the Human Services office for one delivery after Town Meeting on May 6 th The committee <br /> voiced appreciation to Glen Harrington for his assistance in the deliveries. <br /> 2 Update of the Human services Committee By-Laws <br /> Fruth Elias stated that an important part of the upcoming Needs Assessment report focuses on the <br /> need to update thecommittee's by-laws. Ails. Elias suggested the following preliminary amendments <br /> to the existing by-laws: <br /> Article 11, ; substitute the Boars}of Selectmen in plane of Board of Health <br /> Article 111, section B, substitute Board of selectmen in place of Board of Health <br /> Article III, Section C, Terms: substitute Town Cleric in place of Board of Health <br /> Article V, #5, delete the words Board of Health andlor <br /> Article V1, Section B, change quorum of 4 to quorum . <br /> Article VIII: the question was raised about procedures to by-law amendments. This issue <br /> will be investigated by the committee. <br /> Mary Scanlan reminded the committee of the discussion some years ago about changing the <br /> composition of the committee so that there were more at-large members and fewer town employees. <br />
