The question was raised as to tete applicable role Leisure Services plays in <br /> the Human Services issues and goals. Janice I alf rd reminded the committee that any changes <br /> proposed to the By-Laws would need to go to Town Meeting for approval. <br /> 3 Director's Report rt— Gail Wilson <br /> Gail Wilson presented her monthly report. Highlights of the report included the following: <br /> - Hoarding Task Force stated that the resource guide has been completed. <br /> - Gail Wilson attended an Advisory Committee meeting for the Big Fisc Mashpee, coordinated by <br /> the -fusing Assistance Corporation. Ten to fifteen homeowners will be selected for <br /> assistance with home maintenance repairs. In hoarding cases, repairs to the outside of the <br /> building will be addressed, not the inside. The event will take place on 9/28/2013. <br /> - Gail Wilson n vias present at the information table at the Live Well Mashpee event at the high <br /> school, on April 13, 2013. The evert presented an excellent networking ing opportunity for Ms. <br /> Wilson. Flyers from Human Services were mailable on subjects of teens and drugs, and <br /> yberbullying. <br /> Gail Wilson reported her re-appointment as the Mashpee representative to the Human Rights <br /> Commission. The first meeting will be on June 3, 2013. <br /> - The Fuel Assistance program for Mashpee residents was continued this season, with fewer <br /> applicants than in past years. The program ended on April 3 , 2013. <br /> Gail Wilson consulted with the Psychiatric Assessment Team (PAT) on several situations. There <br /> are very few resources available to people who need a psychiatrist. In the past, Ray <br /> Tamasi, Gosnold Director, has offered to meet with the Committee, and the committee <br /> agreed to invite him to a future Human Services Commiftee meeting. <br /> Veronica Warden reported that a Massachusetts Rehabilitation n representative wines to Town Hall <br /> once a week. Gail Wilson will contact this representative to determine eligibility guidelines for <br /> Mashpee residents. <br /> . Human Services Needs Assessments Consultant Update <br /> Virginia Thomas, Collaborative Research h LLC consultant, will present her final Mashpee Needs <br /> Assessment Report rt findings at a Board of Selectmen's meeting on Monday, May 13, 2013, 6:30 PS I <br /> before the Finance Committee and the Human Services Committee. The Human Services <br /> Committee members are urged to attend this meeting. <br /> Gail Wilson reported that she noir has an emergency phone that requires only the push of a button <br /> to be connected to 911. The cost for the phone is $30.00 per month. <br /> The next meeting of the Human Services Committee is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2013 at <br /> 2:00 PM, at the Human Services department office.
