8 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 3, 2018 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion of Convening Various Boards and d Committees about Goals and Objectives for the Future <br /> And Vision of Mashpec Commons: <br /> The Board of Selectmen set tentative dates to further review Goals and Objectives for the future and vision <br /> of Mashpee Commons and its perimeters. The proposed dates include; Monday, January 14, 2019, Tuesday, <br /> January 15, 2019, Monday, February 4, 2019 and Tuesday, February 5, 2019. <br /> After conducting a review of the areas to be discussed, the matter of wastewater was highly prioritized as <br /> the main focus to begin dialogue with applicable Town Departments as noted; Planning Board, <br /> Board of Health, Zoning Board of Appeals, Conservation Commission, EDIC and Sewer Commission. <br /> It was agreed the engineering firm GHD, Inc. contracted for Phase I - Site 4 Wastewater Treatment Facility <br /> (WWTF) Design Development and associated collection system as outlined in the Wastewater Nitrogen <br /> Management Plan would be invited the attend the January 14, 2019 meeting to initiate discussions. <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> Community Preservation Committee: At their last meeting, the CPC extended the application <br /> deadline to November 30, 2018. A total of 5 new projects were additionally submitted, and will be <br /> reviewed at the next CPC meeting. This brings forth a total of 17 projects to be considered for <br /> funding at the May 2019 Special Town Meeting. It was noted that one project, the proposed <br /> Middle/High School Track Reconstruction project overlaps with the Capital Improvement Program <br /> (CIP) Committee. The CTP is expected to review capital projects next week. The $1.5 million Track <br /> Reconstruction project is combined with a request for Artificial Turf, a project that is not permissible <br /> with the use of CPA funding. The CPC is expected to delay any decisions regarding the Track <br /> Reconstruction project until the CIP has fully vetted this proposal. <br /> Town Clerk's Office: The Board expressed condolences to the passing of Joseph J. Mazzucchelli a <br /> former Town employee who worked diligently in the Town Clerk's Office. The service will be held <br /> on Tuesday at Christ the King Parish, Mashpee. <br /> Substance Abuse Task Force: Gail Wilson the Human Service Director along with the Substance <br /> Abuse Task Force was recognized by Barnstable County for their successful monthly Drop-in Night <br /> that has made a tremendous difference from its inception in reducing substance abuse. <br /> EDIC: Members of the FDIC have conveyed to the Town Planner concerns regarding the Seasonal <br /> Sign Bylaw moved forward by the October 2018 Town Meeting. The Planning Board is expected to <br /> further discuss this concern at their next meeting. <br />
