Board of Selectmen Minutes December 3, 20 t 8 General Discussion of Marijuana Host Community Agreements; Recreational Marijuana Licensing Process, Local Option Tax: (continued) Although the Selectmen have little control over the licensing process, it was agreed that criteria should be developed. It is desirable to have a facility with adequate square footage and space for parking and for increased traffic. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins recommended the Board familiarize themselves with the Municipal Role in the Recreational Marijuana Licensing Process. During the application process applicants are required to demonstrate that they have held a Community Outreach Meeting in the Town within the past six months, and have executed a Host Community Agreement with the Town. Once the local steps have been completed the Cannabis Control Commission will consider this component of the license application complete and will proceed with further license application review/approval proceedings. The Town would be notified of the completed application and given an opportunity to confirm that the proposed location is compliant with Town bylaws at the time the application was completed. Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to authorize and direct the Town Manager as lead negotiator for the Town of Mashpee pursuing the 3% Host Community Impact Fee and utilizing staff resources as required. The motion was further expanded and made by Selectman Cahalane to set the deadline for Recreational Marijuana Licensing Applications to Friday,January 18, 2019 for the Board of Selectmen to review at their Regular Meeting on Monday, January 28,2019.
