The Agent showed photos of the site and noted the work is in the front of the house and 100’ away from the wetland. He noted the two trees in the front that will be removed and informed the applicant the new lawn needs to be in conformance with the conservation commission lawn standards. He said the project meets the performance standards. No comment from the public Motion: Mr. Sweet moved a Negative Determination, seconded by Mr. Shaw. Vote unanimous 4-0 6:12 William and Amanda Lovely, 45 Frog Pond Close. Proposed demolition and reconstruction of retaining wall. Resource Area: Coastal Bank, Shoestring Bay Bill Lovely, homeowner, described the proposed project consists of replacing an existing six-foot- tall pressure treated timber retaining wall with a precast concrete Redi-Rock retaining wall. The existing retaining wall is 30 years old and is failing. The new Redi-Rock retaining wall will be built in front of the existing wall. The Agent reviewed the photos of the site and noted the coastal bank is not a sediment source and because there is no need to remove vegetation, there is no impact to the stability of the bank, the project meets the performance standards. Anderson resignation from Commission The Agent announced that Commissioner Robert Anderson has submitted his letter of resignation from the Conservation Commission. The Agent and the Commissioners expressed their thanks for his service throughout the years. Update: Herring runs The Agent gave an update on the herring runs and stated the herring are still running very strong on all three runs. Update: Seaside Appeal The Agent gave an update on Coastline Drive, New Seabury. This has been held up at DEP. There was a ruling by DEP Commissioner that they didn’t consider this as being a Coastal Engineering structure. The Commissioner remanded this back to the applicant and eventually will come back to the Commission to see if it meets the performance standards for a coastal bank and coastal beach. There has been no final decision.
