Katelyn also prepared a power point presentation on a scrolling on a monitor. He noted this
was a very good way to get info out on the land stewards program.

Hearings:

6:00 David Edlin, 5 Bowsprit Point. Proposed removal of five diseased/hazardous trees. RDA

Resource Area: LSCSF, Buffer Zone to BVW, Salt Marsh, Land Under Ocean

David Edlin, homeowner, stated he is requesting the removal of 5 pine trees on the right border of
his property which backs up to Popponesset Creek. He noted 4 of the trees are impacted by
Turpentine Beetle and the trees are weak and close to the house and the bark spray was not
effective. The fifth tree is a tall hazard and leaning toward the house.

The Agent reviewed the photos of the trees and he said upon inspection, he agreed there was
evidence of southern pine beetle and recommended approval. He suggested if the trees are taken
down before October, the stumps need to be ground because of seepage which attracts more of the
beetles. Mr. Edlin stated that was his intent.

No comment from the public

Motion: Mr. Smith moved a Negative Determination, seconded by Mr. Sweet. Vote
unanimous 4-0
